ALBANY -- Some groups celebrate anniversaries with gala dinners. The College of Saint Rose prefers an evening of cross-cultural chanting. The Albany school plans to mark the 10th anniversary of its Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary tonight with a program called "Chanting Across Faith Traditions."

Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim participants will each spend a few minutes demonstrating how their faiths use sound in their rituals.

"Many people across faith traditions have felt the need to use sound to express what's in their heart," said Joan Horgan, director of campus ministry at Saint Rose.
