On November 22, 2003 Newsday reported on the annual Thanksgiving celebrations at the Sikh Glen Cove temple, Mata Sahib Kaur Gurudwara. Beginning two years ago, the temple "joined other houses of worship in the community for an annual interfaith Thanksgiving service. The North Shore Clergy Association, which sponsors the event, had held interfaith services before with different Christian denominations. Other religions were added after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to celebrate religious diversity and bring people together in gratitude to God. Tomorrow night's service at North Country Reform Temple in Glen Cove will include Sikhs, Jews and Christians."
