On August 22, 2003 NCM Online reported that "area Muslims and Arab Americans gathered for an unusual town hall meeting...in Annandale, where many confronted FBI and other U.S. government officials with concerns that their communities are being treated unfairly during the war on terrorism. Tariq Khan, center, of Falls Church and Ali Hadjarian of Fairfax joined other members of the area’s Arab and Muslim communities at a meeting with FBI representatives. Along with the suspicion-laced questions, however, came some earnest suggestions about how the FBI could improve relations with the communities. Abdallah al-Zuabi of the Arab American Institute told the crowd of about 70 that the meeting was 'proof of the commitment by our community and law enforcement to build a more constructive relationship.'"
