On November 7, 2001, USA Today featured an article on the viewpoints of Muslim-American teenagers. "Muslim youths of Middle Eastern and South Asian descent in the USA are watching the war on terrorism from a complicated, often tortured vantage point. They say they have felt the soul-searing tug of competing loyalties and have seen their beloved religion distorted by both the nation's enemies and its media." Despite all of the young Muslims recently interviewed "deplor[ing] the terrorist attacks,...many of these young people say their non-Muslim peers have stereotyped them as disloyal to the United States or dangerous because of the terrorist attacks."
