On October 26, 2000, the Council on American-Islamic Relations reported that, "CTI Logistx, located in Bramalea, Ontario has agreed to allow a Muslim employee to attend Friday prayers following intervention by the Canadian office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CAN). The employee had approached CTI a few months ago with a request to attend Friday afternoon prayers. At the company's request, he provided religious documentation from local Muslim organizations. CTI initially approved the request, with the condition that there be a replacement for the employee during his absence. Since it was not always possible to fulfill this condition, the employee was unable to attend Friday prayers on a regular basis. The employee contacted CAIR-CAN to resolve the dispute. Following discussions with CTI contract manager Mr. Gregory Lewis, the company immediately acknowledged that the employee's religious right to worship should be accommodated and agreed to his request without any conditions."
