With fasting and observances associated with the holy month of Ramadan over, members and officials of The Muslim Center of Middlesex County are focusing on their next task — expanding their crowded facilities on Hoes Lane.
The organization, which is one of Middlesex County's largest religious and educational nonprofit entities for Muslims, is seeking to enlarge its mosque on the Hoes Lane property, which is just north of the Busch Campus of Rutgers University. An application on file with the township also asks the Board of Adjustment for permission to build more classroom space so the center can move its school from a rented warehouse-type building on Ethel Road to the Hoes Lane site.
