On December 8, 2005 The Rising Nepal reported, "Instituted with the main objectives of spreading the message of religious tolerance in the world and working for the welfare of mankind, an organisation by the name 'National Religions, Cultures Coordination and Promotion Council Nepal' was formally launched here yesterday. Badagurujyu Janardan Raj Pande, Chairman of the World Hindu Federation, Bharat Keshar Singh, Senior Vice-chairman of Nepal Anubrat Sangh Jaya Prakash Gupta, Chairman of Sanatan Dharma Sewa Committee Dr. Hari Bhakta Neupane, 1008 Swami Hariharananda and Kalyani Mata jointly inaugurated the organisation amid a function. The council functions as an umbrella body comprising various religious organisations of the Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and [Sikh] religious communities associated with the 'Omkar Family'... Federation chairman Singh pointed out the need to include teaching materials related to cultural values and religious aspects in the educational curricula of schools and colleges."
