On June 10, 2004 Star Newspapers gave an update on the proposal to build a mosque in Orlando Park, IL. "The property where the proposed mosque would be built is subject to annexation into Orlando Park. As a result, village officials are expected to vote in favor of the project on its merits — that is, whether it meets village codes and ordinances. Committee members last month said voting against the proposed mosque simply on the grounds they don't like the concept is a violation of constitutional rights."
