On November 18, 2003 the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported on Scott Hyslop, a religious studies and math major from Montana who recently mapped the state's religions for Harvard University's Pluralism Project. Hyslop was one of two-dozen university students from across the United States charged with seeking out religious diversity. Among his finds were that Montana hosts several Baha'i communities, 13 Buddhist Sanghas representing 10 different traditions of Buddhism, Muslim centers in Bozeman and Missoula, and a wide variety of Native American religions, Pagans and Wiccans.
