Ministry of Education to Offer Religious Tolerance Training to Teachers

On June 8, 2006 Asharq Al-Awsat reported, "The Saudi Ministry of Education had declared that it will offer male and female teachers of Islamic studies special training programs designed to spread the concept of religious tolerance amongst teachers. Saad Al Mady, Director General of Training at the Ministry of Education, informed Asharq Al Awsat that one of the most important priorities for the ministry is increasing awareness and religious tolerance amongst teaching staff. Al Mady highlighted the continuous cooperation between the training department and teachers of religious studies and Islamic culture to spread and endorse tolerance between teachers, ultimately conveying this message to their students."
