As a seminary student, the Rev. Jeremy Squires
learned most of what he needed to know to be a
Methodist preacher, but he didn't learn much about
other faiths, like Islam or Buddhism.
That's left Squires, pastor of Pleasant View United
Methodist church in Cheatham County, feeling like
he's at a disadvantage, especially now that America
continues to grow more religiously diverse.
When questions come up about other faiths, like the proposed mosque in Murfreesboro, Squires is not always sure how to advise his congregation. "There is so much that we don't know about each other,'' he said.
