On February 2, 2006 the Marco Island Sun Times reported, "Monday's morning celebration of the 14th Annual Marco Island Women's Interfaith Gathering drew an assembly of almost 200 women at the new San Marco Catholic Church's Parish Center, honoring an innovative tradition of bringing together women of all faiths in fellowship. The event was hosted by Wesley United Methodist Church and chaired by Joy Hopkins. In her opening remarks, keynote speaker Kim Cliet Long, CEO/executive director of the Naples-based Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, expressed her approval... In between each of her selections, [Marlene Bard of Marco Lutheran Church] - a former teacher - spoke of the enduring role that love has played throughout her life despite personal losses: the death of her husband and the devastation of her home following the hurricane. But it turns out Byard's themes about home and the importance of what she calls 'The Three L's: Life, Love and Lord' are in keeping with the philosophy at Fun Time. Thus, her interlude became more of a prelude for Long as she began drawing similar parallels with the challenges she faces on a daily basis in serving the underserved... [Fun Time] is the oldest early childhood provider for low-income families in the county."
