On May 16, 2003 the Muslim Journal reported that Charleston, South Carolina is supporting "a community improvement effort led by Imam Mohammed Idris, a local Imam in Charleston who works under the organization PRIDE which he officially organized." The city held a meeting concerning the community service effort, and it "concluded with the Housing Authority and others committing to work with PRIDE in building at least 500 rental units in that area."
