Mark Balma is one artist who isn't afraid to send a message. From his religious-themed frescos, to historically charged paintings like 'Pieta', his take on the John F. Kennedy assassination, Balma wants to reach both the heads and the hearts of those who view work.
Balma's latest painting is a plea for religious tolerance and understanding that attempts to find common ground between Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.
Titled "The Return Home," it centers on the moment that inspired the biblical story of the prodigal son. Balma focused on this theme because Abraham, and his sons Ishmael and Isaac are people who play an important role in all three faiths.
