On September 21, 2003 The Interfaith Alliance posted an article on its website from the Lexington Herald Leader on its Lexington, KY chapter. The article said, "The group, made up of local religious leaders, works to fight intolerance around Lexington. 'One of our main purposes is to bring people together, not just people from Christian denominations, but Christian, Muslim, Hindu -- people from all faiths,' said the Rev. Cynthia Cain, minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington on Clays Mill Road and president of the local group. The local alliance is one of about 138 chapters in the nation. It represents mainly Central Kentucky, and it's the only chapter in the state... The Bluegrass alliance hosted a patriotic rally July 1 to champion religious tolerance and freedom. The rally featured religious leaders from across the country, as well as Lexington Mayor Teresa Isaac."
