About 50 people may be greeting people differently after a presentation Friday in the R. Michael Fryer Conference Center at Penn State Schuylkill.

Dr. Ravi Rustagi, an adjunct instructor of math and engineering at the campus, presented a lecture called "The Hindu Community," in which he discussed the traditional Indian greeting, Namaste.

Namaste "means the God in me bows to the God in you. It's an eco-friendly greeting. No body parts touch, nor are there any exchanges of aura," Rustagi told the audience of about 50 people.

The lecture, which explored Hindu culture and religion, was part of the annual Religious and Cultural Forum presented for the past 28 years as a way for the academic community and the local community to come together.
