On January 29, 2005 The Star Tribune reported that Muslims in Minnesota offer free public teachings on Islam. In Minnesota the effort has been a success and is part of a growing trend throughout the country in places such as Tennessee, Vermont and Arizona. Ultimately the free public classes are an attempt to educate the non-Muslim community to the basic teaching of Islam with hope of heightening public awareness and bridging community boundaries.
