On June 25, 2003 the Boston Herald reported that "for decades, the sprawling building at 155 Quincy Ave. tended the bodies of the frail elderly as Resthaven Nursing Home... Today, it tends the souls of hundreds of worshippers as a resplendent Buddhist temple... The transformation from a healer of bodies to a healer of souls began five years ago... Master Thich Thien Hue had been looking for a place to open a temple on the South Shore [of MA]... He found it in what he called 'the forgotten building...' The Buddhist community rallied together to transform the forgotten building into a Buddhist center, the largest on the South Shore."
