On July 11, 2003 India Abroad reported that "Krishna devotees Avadhuta Siromani Das and his wife Candrabhaga Devi Dasi set out May 28 from Gita Nagari Dhama, home of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Pennsylvania, on foot to Mexico... [to disseminate] the Bhagavad Gita's message... [The trip's] aim is to spread the message of peace and harmony when the world is plagued by war and unrest."
