On July 25, 2003 Tolerance.org reported that "the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) in Tucson, Ariz., was formed in 1966 as the social action arm of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona... Today, one of the group's major thrusts is helping others use the Holocaust as a tool to teach about hate and prejudice... In February, the group drew 200 area teachers for its in-service program, 'Teaching the Holocaust on the Path to Prejudice Reduction.' The gathering featured the director of Houston's Holocaust Museum as well as a detective from the Tucson Police Department who talked about bias and hate- motivated crimes."
