On June 7, 2006 The Mississauga News reported, "Peel Regional Police are searching for at least one suspect after a Muslim high school in east Mississauga was vandalized today. Graffiti was spray-painted on a window and wall at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) high school on Sherway Dr. some time between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. today, said Peel Cst. Jennifer Bryer.

She said the letters NBGK were painted onto the school, along with the letters NBGR, in red paint.

Investigators wouldn't confirm the crime is hate-related, as they are unable to determine what the letters mean. The force's Race and Ethnic Relations Bureau is involved in the investigation.

The vandalism comes just a few days after police arrested 17 people, including six from Misssissauga, alleging they were a terrorist group planning attacks across Ontario. News of the arrests have garnered international coverage, and a mosque in Etobicoke has already been vandalized."
