Islamic Center Opens its Doors to Athens Interfaith Communities

On October 13, 2003 the University of Georgia newspaper reported that "the Al-Huda Islamic Center opened its doors to the Athens community Saturday in an effort to enhance the knowledge and understanding of Islamic culture among its neighbors... A slide show and various videos concerning Islamic issues acquainted visitors with a world some said they might not have otherwise known existed." The center is involved in several inter-faith activities such as a project that involves members of the Islamic center, Jewish organizations and Christian organizations building a house for Habitat for Humanity.
