An interfaith service designed to bring together grief-stricken Minnesotans trying to cope with the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge was held Sunday night at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral about one mile from the span.

The service attracted more than 1,000 people of different faiths who prayed, sang and sought comfort from one another. Some of those attending had lost friends or family members when the bridge over the Mississippi River suddenly collapsed during the Wednesday evening rush hour. At least five people were killed, about 100 others were injured and eight were missing.
