On February 20, 2003 The Atlanta Journal and Constitution reported that "as Atlanta's interfaith movement builds, stores that specialize in religious supplies become attractions not just to those of a particular faith, but also to shoppers --- and the curious --- of other backgrounds. Classes at the Tibetan Buddhist center in north DeKalb County attract significant numbers of non-Buddhists, and visitors show up regularly for services at a Hindu temple, members of each say... 'When non-Jewish people come into our store, I do my best to make them feel comfortable,' said sales associate Esther Taratoot of Chosen Treasures, a Jewish store in Sandy Springs... That's also the goal of Nikki Abdul-Mateen, manager of Bookland of New Afrika World, located in the lobby of a mosque, the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam."
