On May 21, 2006 BBC News reported, "Organisers of a conference bringing together religious and community leaders in Swansea say they hope to increase understanding among faiths. The public have been invited to Sunday's event, which will include addresses from representatives of six major faiths and an open debate. The meeting has been promoted with the motto 'Love for all, hatred for none.' It is hoped that the meeting, starting at Manselton Community Centre at 1030 BST, could attract up to 200 people. One of the organisers, Shakil Ahmed, of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association International, said: 'The aim is to promote a peaceful society with reference to the teaching of different religions. This is a golden opportunity for anyone to learn about other religions' views.' Tony Young, of the Swansea asylum seekers' support group, who is among the speakers, said: 'The theme is peace and reconciliation among the different faith groups, both in this city and more generally in the world.' Representatives of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism will give short speeches."
