On Thursday, Jeff Miner, an Indianapolis pastor who leads the Interfaith Coalition on Nondiscrimination, reminded lawmakers that America is a country that protects the rights of unpopular minorities from the 'tyranny of the masses.' 'Remind us that there was a time when slavery was considered an institution established by You, when allowing women to vote was considered contrary to the Bible, when interracial marriages were believed to threaten the very foundations of the American family, when left-handed children were thought to be under the influence of the devil,' Miner said."
