SHARON -The tide has come in for interfaith diversity education, and with it bringing waves of change. Such is the belief and hope of Interfaith Action, a high school religious interfaith group based in Sharon. It was also a prime motivation as teens from the group's Youth Leadership Program hosted a remarkable event this week called T.I.D.E. (Teenage Interfaith Diversity Education): A Wave of Change.

The event was a teen-run conference held on Tuesday in at Harvard University's Divinity School. The day-long conference brought together not only the teen members of Sharon's Interfaith Action, but also invited similarly interfaith and like-minded high-school teens from other areas of Eastern Massachusetts and as far away as New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and New Jersey.

T.I.D.E.: A Wave of Change was co-sponsored by the Pluralism Project at Harvard University. The program was attended by some fifty Northeast area high-school teens covering a full range of ethnic and religious backgrounds, giving each a chance to reflect, connect and interact with each other, providing a rare opportunity for multi-cultural learning experience with a day of workshops, dialogues, and peer-to-peer education.
