On January 7, 2002, The Orlando Sentinel reported "World's faiths converge to urge peace, harmony." The article noted, "In the ballroom of the Rosen Plaza Hotel on International Drive in Orlando, the faces and families reflected the changing religious complexions of Central Florida, brought together in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Prayers and holy writings were recited, chanted and sung in English, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic and Hindi. Choirs, soloists and musicians from Sikh, African American, Jewish, Protestant, Native American and Religious Science congregations and traditions participated." The article noted that the interfaith relationships grew from September 11 and its aftermath into a "common cause for peace and understanding in Central Florida."
