On September 24, 2005 the Gazette Times reported, "In light of the destruction and loss monopolizing the news recently, the theme of Corvallis' fourth annual Interfaith Conference on Oct. 1 couldn't be more appropriate. 'Healing Ourselves and Our World — An Interfaith Sharing,' was the topic chosen months ago by the Interfaith Community of Corvallis for the 7 p.m. gathering of representatives from nearly a dozen different faith traditions. First Presbyterian Church.... will host the event. A series of presentations featuring music, storytelling, prayer, chants or meditations will offer perspectives on how different religions facilitate healing. Local faith communities participating include the Baha'i Faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Self-Realization Fellowship, Native Americans, Christian Scientists, Sufi Circle and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship... The Interfaith Community of Corvallis sponsors the event each year as a means of highlighting the diversity of faiths found locally."
