On December 5, 2004 IslamOnline.net reported, "Religious leaders from Asia and the Pacific will meet in Indonesia on Monday, December 5, to promote moderation and counter extremism. The two-day meeting -- the International Dialogue on Interfaith Cooperation -- is being co-hosted by Australia and Indonesia in tandem with the Muhammadiyah, Indonesia’s second largest Islamic organization with some 30 million members, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP). Representatives from the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and East Timor are expected to attend the conference in the central Java city of Yogyakarta."
