On July 22, 2004 The Oregonian reported, "First came speeches, prayers, guitar strumming, singing, clapping, smudging smoke in four directions and consecrating. Then, under Wednesday afternoon's summer blue sky, a crowd of about 60 began dancing to drumming, moving through the hyacinth-and-gray labyrinth. Once the dancers made their way through, the group concluded its dedication of the new labyrinth at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital in Tualatin. Hospital officials say it's the first at a Portland-area medical center. Representatives of various faiths tied to Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Bahaism, Judaism and some Native American traditions gave an interfaith blessing to the labyrinth, now open to the public."
