PEEKSKILL - More than 200 people gathered yesterday afternoon for Peekskill's first Unified Day of Prayer.
"It's a day for morale, inspiration and faith," said Clarence Brown, a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill. "If it springs out here, it'll grow."
The event at Peekskill Plaza on Main Street kicked off the first Peekskill Week of Prayer.
The project, by an interfaith group of 50 churches, synagogues and mosques, will end Saturday.
