On December 21, 2003 the Richmond Times-Dispatch published an article on religious sensitivity in the workplace, noting that Christmas trees can alienate non-Christian employees. University of Richmond professor Douglas A. Hicks, author of "Religion and the Workplace: Pluralism, Spirituality, Leadership," argues that America, as the most religiously diverse country in the world, should "convey respectful pluralism."
