Hindus have urged the medical and religious communities of the country to join hands to open free interfaith health clinics for the uninsured and poor.
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that until we had some kind of universal health coverage, we were morally obligated to provide about 45 million uninsured of the country at least very rudimentary medical care.
Until the government fixed this complex issue of healthcare, medical professionals and religious establishments should launch these free clinics by volunteering their time, facilities, and resources to help the communities they live in. Religions and ethics taught us to help the less fortunate, Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, argued.
