COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM, March 22, 2007: International Women's Day celebrated in Coventry was of special significance to Hindu Women this year as Muna Chauhan was honored with the "Women of Achievement Awards 2007." The news release explained Muna Chauhan's background and her numerous contributions to her community and abroad, "Although in full-time employment, as a Senior Personal Bank Manager with Lloyds TSB, Muna works in her spare time as an active community campaigner, volunteering tirelessly for many voluntary and charity organizations in Coventry and across the UK. In particular, Muna has helped raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity Sewa International where she is a volunteer, for their worldwide appeals and campaigns. As well as raising funds, Muna has regularly gone out to disaster areas in countries abroad, which have been hit by tsunamis, earthquakes, floods and hurricanes, (at her own cost) to offer her voluntary services in the humanitarian and rehabilitation work. She is also an active member of the CIC Festival Committee, which consists of community and religious leaders who come together to organize and celebrate various festivals including Diwali and Vaisakhi."

A spokesperson for Sewa International said, "Muna is an 'unsung hero' for the City of Coventry. She always shys away from the glare of publicity and always puts others forward to receive praise. Muna always comments that it gives her great happiness to help others and feels that it is our duty to humanity to help one another. Muna Chauhan is worthy of recognition for her determination and compassion in helping people from all sections of the community."
