Hindu Temple, Church Vandalized in Seminole County

On August 9, 2005 Local6.com reported, "Detectives said vandals damaged a Hindu Society of Central Florida temple located on Lake Drive over the weekend. The vandals wrote on the walls, damaged some statues and poured paint into shoes left outside the temple. The paint was tracked around the area, according to the report. 'Welcome to Orlando -- we're glad and excited to have you here' was also written on one of the temple's windows. The New Covenant Assembly Church, also located on Lake Drive, was damaged by vandals on Monday. Windows were broken and the church's mailbox was destroyed by fire. A church [van] was also damaged."
