On July 7, 2005 a Hindu Council UK Press Release reported, "Hindu Council UK is appalled to see the terrorist attacks today on the London transport system and condemn, in the strongest terms, the ghastly and inhuman attack on the innocent public.

The Hindu religion, which has been viewed throughout history as the most peaceful, humane, civilised and cultured religion, has been facing these attacks for over a decade. Indeed, only this week one of its most revered Temple sites, in the holy Indian city of Ayodhya, sustained a terrorist attack.

We greatly admire the quick and highly organised rescue and safety operations undertaken by the Police and emergency services.

We extend our most profound condolences to the relatives of the deceased, and heartfelt sympathies and solace to the injured."
