Heritage Trail Celebrates Anglo-Sikh History

On June 23, 2005 the Government News Network reported, "Today (Thursday 23 June), Maidstone Museum will see the launch in the South East of Britain's first heritage trail celebrating Anglo-Sikh history. The Anglo-Sikh Heritage Trail, created by the Maharajah Duleep Singh Centenary Trust and English Heritage, is a web-based trail for people to follow around the country. It draws together all the strands of Sikh history in the UK, from architecture and memorials to rare books, manuscripts and sumptuous treasures and artefacts... Tracey Wahdan, English Heritage Assistant Director of Visitor Operations for the South East said: 'Anglo-Sikh heritage is a vital part of England's history. English Heritage is delighted to help bring this exciting idea to life and highlight 150 years of Anglo-Sikh culture.'"
