A Sikh temple on D Street was given the go-ahead last week to expand its facility and make it into more of a traditional prayer site featuring a larger dome.
It will be a larger facility, at 34,200 square feet compared with the current 21,400-square-foot building.
However, a staff report says it is not expanding to significantly increase the number of parishioners, and the main prayer room will go from a 500-person capacity to 580.
