Greece's Socialist government says it will build a mosque in Athens for a growing number of Muslim immigrants in the Greek capital, following years of delays.
Ten of thousands of Muslims in Athens currently gather at informal prayer houses in converted apartments and warehouses.
The government said Wednesday it would pay for the immediate development of a mosque on the grounds of a former Navy facility near central Athens.
