On May 12, 2004 SikhNet reported, "The Fourth annual Sikh Charity bike ride took place [in London] on a misty Sunday morning on May 2nd 2004. The bike ride started after a brief prayer at 10:00 AM from Gurdwara Singh Sabha London East Sevenkings and concluded successfully at 2:00 pm after a 15-mile circular route of East London Boroughs of Redbridge, Newham, and Barking and Dagenham. The route was planned to touch the hearts and minds of London's multiracial and multicultural communities by the organisers and members of London Cycling Campaign group, where members of community stood out and supported youngsters with their Jiakaras and refreshments as they cycled by. The local Police Services were helpful as they skilfully controlled the traffic on major roundabouts and junctions. The marshals and motorbike riders helped the riders to keep in their lane and maintain good cycling discipline to minimise inconvenience to other road users. At the end of the ride the riders were served with wholesome meal and certificates of merit."
