On November 3, 2003 autofan.com reported that "Ford Motor Company employees around the world now are holding a variety of events, displays and special celebrations through Nov. 13 to mark the company’s commitment to driving diversity in the workplace. The 2003 Global Diversity and Worklife Summit, now in its fourth year, is designed to celebrate the company’s successes in the areas of diversity and worklife while introducing employees to new ideas about the topics. Beginning today, the two weeks of events and displays will include everything from blood pressure screenings at a health information fair to the unveiling of a Ford Centennial edition of a Persian rug commissioned by employees of Middle Eastern decent. Throughout the week, the company will distribute to employees 'America’s Table: A Thanksgiving Reader.' The pamphlet, published by the American Jewish Committee and supported, in part, by Ford, is intended to be read at Thanksgiving tables as it provides stories of how various cultures in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving. 'We are pleased to have this opportunity to highlight diversity and worklife,' said Patty Flaherty, director, Corporate Development. 'A diverse and inclusive work environment is key to maximizing the contribution of each and every employee.'
