One of the first Sikh temples in the Bay Area is about to grow by 70,000 square feet, after Contra Costa supervisors approved the expansion project in El Sobrante after years of debate.
Members of the Sikh community left the board chamber satisfied Tuesday after winning a unanimous vote from county supervisors in Martinez.
”It’s taken ten years since we applied for the second phase, and I was here in this building applying for it then, along with our architect,” said Spokesman Harpreet Sandhu.
