A group of long-time Bay Area residents have announced their plans to establish a Sri Durga Lakshmi Saraswati Temple in the South Bay. Associated facilities will include a multi-purpose, solar-roofed building with wedding hall, dining hall, kitchen, offices, library and classrooms.

In addition, a 500 seat auditorium for dance, music and other cultural events is planned as well. When completed in five to six years, this temple will meet the needs of a large section of diverse Hindu community and well-wishers living and working in the South Bay.

The temple will be built in the best Hindu traditions of Agama and Shilpa Shastras. An elegant and fully equipped auditorium which can be used by the prestigious dance and music schools of South Bay will benefit the community at large. This will be a "Green Temple" incorporating environmentally friendly features such as solar roofs and rain water harvesting.
