On February 11, 2006 the Detroit Free Press reported, "The Rev. Richard Singleton, one of metro Detroit's best-known builders of bridges between different faiths, said farewell to 200 Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders who gathered for an interfaith day of study at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Township on Friday. Singleton, head of the Metropolitan Christian Council since 1998, is retiring at age 67 and moving closer to family in Virginia... In his years with the council, he launched a TV series, 'Interfaith Odyssey,' a half-hour talk show about current religious issues... The show has been off the air since January but is slated to return April 2, he said. Singleton also helped plan religious events for Detroit's 300th anniversary and has been a partner in many local programs that draw people together from diverse religious groups. Also, every February, he emcees a question-and-answer session with scholars at the Glazer Institute, [Michigan's oldest annual interfaith event]."
