Muslims and Christians in Delta State, under the auspices of Arewa Forum and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), yesterday jointly denounced the recent ethno-religious crisis in Northern part of Nigeria, particularly in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
They also carpeted the Federal Government for what the groups called the failure of the government to live of to its constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the nation’s citizenry.
The two groups, which made the declaration after a meeting at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Warri, appealed to all adherents of the two major religions in the state to guard jealously the existing convivial relationship existing between them rather than allow what happened in Jos to strain that rapport.
