On April 20, 2005 the Indo-Asian News Service reported, "The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted protection to a Hindu man and a Muslim woman who had been running from pillar to post since they married in January to escape harassment by police and the bride's family. Bridegroom Laxmi Chand and bride Naurina had moved the court seeking anticipatory bail and the recovery of the father and brother of the former. Laxmi Chand's father and brother were arrested by police at Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh on a complaint by the family of Naurina and are now in judicial custody."
