The Rev. Laura Westby of First Congregational Church believes the world's greatest hope for peace is to "teach our children to be peacemakers."

So Westby was delighted to see 25 children explore peace through the eyes of different religions and cultures during last week's sixth annual Interfaith Peace Camp sponsored by the Association of Religious Communities.

Each day between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., children explored "What Peace Means To..." a particular spiritual practice or culture.

The week started with Native American beliefs and wrapped up with Christianity.

In the middle of the week, the children visited a mosque, a synagogue and a Buddhist meditation center to get a sense of religions with which they may be unfamiliar.
