On November 27, 2003 The Dallas Morning News reported, "The Welhausen Foundation, a nonprofit multifaith group started by Charles and Marilyn Welhausen, enlists volunteers from a variety of faith groups to come together for one-time service projects... Most recently, about 20 people, including Bahá'ís, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews and members of the Center for Spiritual Living and the Sathya Sai Baba Center, visited a nursing home in Garland. Volunteer groups have also assisted at monthly bingo night at the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, delivered Meals on Wheels, and prepared a meal at Ronald McDonald House."
