On February 14, 2002, The Boston Globe reported that "an organization that represents 800 Conservative Jewish Congregations in North America named its first female president... Judy Yudof, of St. Paul [MN], is taking over as leader of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism... [and] said she was pleased that her appointment would draw attention to gender equality in the Conservative branch."
